1. 1887Founded in Meiji 20 (1887). The flagship brand at the time was "Morizuru," which later became the current flagship brand "Hakuko." The brewery also had a brand called "Kamotsukasa" and exported to Taiwan before the war.
2. 1945In September of Showa 20 (1945), shortly after the war, a major flood caused by the Makurazaki Typhoon caused the Noro River beside the brewery to overflow, sweeping away seven buildings including the original brewery and the main residence. Old documents about the brewery's roots and the origin of its main brand "Hakuko" were lost, and many aspects remain unclear to this day.
