Takeshigehonke Shuzo has been operating since 1868 in Saku, Nagano Prefecture, in a historic brewery complex along the old Nakasendo road now recognized as a national cultural asset. The Bokusui brand spans a range from honjozo to daiginjo, representing the breadth of styles crafted from this mountain region with its pure water and cold winters ideal for sake production. The brewery site, with over 30 registered cultural properties, gained broader recognition as the model for the Jinnouchi family home in the anime film Summer Wars.
