沿革
- 1910In October 1910, Umegoro Kariu founded the sake brewery "Kariu Shuzojo" in Honjo village, Oita.
- 1921In March 1921, Masami Kariu succeeded the business.
- 1934In August 1934, Yutaka Kariu succeeded the business.
- 1953In June 1953, the business was incorporated as a limited company, with Yutaka Kariu as representative director.
- 1984In October 1984, the brewery buildings were rebuilt/renovated with new shochu production equipment, and full-scale shochu production began.
- 2001In October 2001, the company was reorganized from Kariu Shuzojo Ltd. into Bungo Meijo Co., Ltd.
- 2002In September 2002, the factory (administration and bottling divisions) moved from Honjo village to Yokokawa, Naokawa village.
- 2010In November 2010, Koichi Kariu resigned as representative director and Takayuki Kariu was newly appointed.
