Kuranomachi Tokubetsu Junmaishu is a tokubetsu (special) junmai from Hoshi Shuzo in Tochigi, a prefecture at the foot of the Nikko mountain range where exceptionally pure snowmelt water has supported sake brewing for centuries. Tokubetsu junmai requires a specially selected rice, distinctive polishing ratio, or unique production technique to distinguish it from standard junmai, and the Tochigi regional style generally favors clean, moderately dry profiles. The Kuranomachi name, meaning brewery town, pays tribute to Tochigi's historic brewing heritage and the traditional townscapes of its sake-producing communities.
Estimated from the category and polishing ratio, not a measurement of this bottle.
