Description

Hanayoi Honjouzoshu is produced by Hanayoi Shuzo in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan's renowned sake region often called one of the three great brewing areas in the country. Hiroshima is historically distinguished by its soft water, which yields sake of gentle sweetness and smooth texture, characteristics the honjozo classification enhances through the judicious addition of distilled alcohol to sharpen and brighten the palate. The name Hanayoi (花酔, 'flower drunk') evokes the sensory intoxication of spring blossoms, a fitting image for sake from a region celebrated for its refinement.
