Historia
1675
Founded (Enpo 3) as the sake brewery "Masuda Tokubee" and rice shop "Yoneya Yahei" along the Toba Sakuramichi road south of Rashomon in Kyoto.
1868
Damaged in the Battle of Toba-Fushimi (Keio 4); the brewery was rebuilt and reestablished at its current location.
1964
The 13th-generation owner invented Japan's first sparkling nigori sake (Showa 39).
1965
Began long-term aging of Junmai Daiginjo koshu in porcelain vessels the following year.
