Diese alteingesessene Brauerei in Oita wurde in Mizuike, Nozu-cho, in der Meiji-Zeit gegründet. Bei einer Wasserqualitätsuntersuchung im Jahr 2004 wurde der Ono-Fluss als einer der besten Japans eingestuft. Die Brauerei ist in Nozu-cho ansässig, das für seine außergewöhnliche Naturlandschaft und den Berg Yoshinoyama bekannt ist, und stellt sowohl sake als auch authentischen shochu her.

- 1872Founded a sake brewing business in Mizuchi, Notsu-machi under the trade name Manrikiya.
- 1919Relocated production to the current site; the Meiji-era and Taisho-era kura buildings survive in their original form.

- 1973Expanded the head office brewery following the abolition of production volume restrictions.
