1752年(宝暦2年)
Under orders from the 6th lord Hosokawa Shigekata, the Shimoda family began sake brewing in Higo Kumasho.
1920年(大正9年)
The company was incorporated as Nankun Shuzo Co., Ltd. and the brand 'Bishonen' was launched.
1950年(昭和25年)
Renamed to Bishonen Shuzo Co., Ltd.
2012年(平成24年6月)
The current Bishonen Co., Ltd. was founded.
2013年(平成25年8月)
Acquired the sake business from Hi no Kuni Shuzo Co., Ltd. (formerly Bishonen Shuzo Co., Ltd.).
2013年(平成25年11月)
Relocated headquarters from Jonan-machi, Kumamoto City to Kikuchi City.
2014年(平成26年)
Opened the Kikuchi brewery (former Suigen Elementary School building); won Monde Selection Gold Medal and other awards.
2019年(令和元年)
Won Platinum Prize (Junmai category, 'Seiya') and Gold ('Kikuchi' Junmai Ginjo) at the 3rd Kuramaster 2019.
