Yukikomachi

Watanabe Shuzo Honten was established in 1871 as a shrine sake supplier in Nishida-machi, Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, and named its flagship Yukikomachi to evoke the beauty of northern snow country, combining the character for snow with the elegance of the name Komachi. The brewery ferments its sake with water from limestone caves in the Abukuma plateau, a mineral-rich medium-hard water that contributes to the brand's signature dry, sharp profile, while sourcing its rice from estate fields and contract farmers in the local area. Yukikomachi has won multiple gold awards at the National New Sake Competition, with its flagship junmai daiginjo expressions noted for lively acidity and a clean finish.
