Umegatani Shuzo was established in 1834 in Kama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, drawing brewing water from the Kamagawa River, a source of the Onga River system, for nearly two centuries. The brewery produces sake alongside local artisan products including amazake and traditional pickles, maintaining a small-scale, regional identity rooted in northern Fukuoka's agricultural landscape.
