Momokawa Brewing, based in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, has been crafting sake since inheriting its brewing rights in 1889 at the close of the Edo period. In the United States the brewery's sake is presented under the Murai Family label, distinguished by the iconic Nebuta Warrior image from Aomori's celebrated summer festival. The brewery holds the Gold Award at the Japan Sake Awards for 10 consecutive years and has won the Nanbu Toji Sake Appraisal Award for 67 years in a row, a record unmatched by any other brewery.
