Chitose is produced by Chitosenomatsu Shuzo, a brewery located in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, one of Japan's three historically recognized sake-producing regions alongside Nada and Fushimi. Kurume's sake tradition is rooted in the region's fertile rice paddies and clean water, and the area has sustained dozens of breweries for centuries. The Chitose brand represents the brewery's contribution to this regional sake heritage.
