History
1917
Omi Shuzo Co., Ltd. was formally founded and registered, with initial capital of 200,000 yen.
1954
A new distillation building was constructed to coincide with Yokaichi's incorporation as a city, and its smokestack became a landmark of the brewery.
1966
The company absorbed and merged with Shiga Shuzo Co., Ltd.
1974
Launched the junmai sake brand 'Omiji'.
1987
Released its first daiginjo sake, 'Kinran', which won a gold medal at the National New Sake Awards the same year.
2015
Launched the 'Omiryumon' series, which won the top gold award at the National Kanzake (warm sake) Contest and grew into the company's flagship line.
2016
Launched the 'Omi Neko Masamune' sake series.
2024
Formally surrendered all manufacturing licenses for sake, shochu, liqueur, and other alcoholic beverages, completing its withdrawal from sake production.
