Ubusuna is brewed by Hananoka Shuzo in the Kikuchi River basin of Kumamoto Prefecture, with a philosophy rooted in the Japanese concept of ubusuna, the deities and soil of one's birthplace. Every rice used in the brand is grown in the same watershed as the brewing water, expressing what the brewery calls an inseparable bond between land and sake. The label art depicts the microscopic world of soil bacteria, koji mold, and yeast, translating the invisible life of fermentation into a visual identity.
