Fukushogun

Fukushogun is produced by Meiri Shurui in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, a comprehensive sake and spirits producer whose most recognized achievement is the development of the Ogawa yeast, registered as Japan Brewers Association Yeast No. 10 and now used by breweries nationwide. The brand is built on this proprietary yeast culture, which produces a clean, elegant fragrance dominated by ethyl caproate, and has won gold at the National New Sake Competition a cumulative 15 times. Fukushogun uses mountain water characteristic of Ibaraki Prefecture alongside sake rice including locally developed Hitachi Nishiki.
