  1. 1810年頃Around 1810, Kameya Shuzoten (sake "Kamenami") and Iinoya (sake "Konomizasa") began sake brewing in Azumino, one after another.
  2. 1870年頃Around 1870, Mutai Shuzoten (sake "Tsutaizumi") was founded.
  3. 1961年In 1961, Kameya Shuzoten, Iinoya, and Mutai Shuzoten merged to create "Suien".
  4. 1973年In 1973, ahead of other breweries, the company discontinued zojo-shu (alcohol-added, sugar-blended sake common since the postwar rice shortage) and switched to producing junmai sake under a quality-first policy.
  5. 1996年In 1996, Suien won three awards at the national, Kanto-Koshinetsu, and Nagano Prefecture new sake competitions.
  6. 1997年In 1997, Suien won three consecutive awards at the Kanto-Koshinetsu new sake competition.
  7. 2001年In 2001, the daiginjo "Otoko no Namida," the culmination of the brewery's craftsmanship, won gold at the National New Sake Awards and three awards at the Kanto-Koshinetsu and Nagano competitions. ExcelHuman invested, continuing Suien's history and tradition.
  8. 2003年In 2003, a new building with updated facilities was completed and the company was renamed EH Shuzo.
