Kurayoshi Daiginjo Akagawara is named for Kurayoshi's celebrated red-tiled rooftop townscape, one of Japan's most distinctive historic preservation districts. Gensui Shuzo brews this prestige daiginjo as a tribute to Kurayoshi's cultural legacy, using soft Hiezu River water and meticulous polishing to produce a sake worthy of the city's storied heritage.

The former sake brewery is a corner of Kurayoshi's symbol, the white wall storehouse along Tamagawa. The initial sake inscription went to "Asahi Masamune" early in the Taisho era. Currently, in a well -maintained environment, he uses sake brewing that values the taste of nature, while protecting the handed techniques.
