Description

Asajiwo takes its name from a classical Japanese poetic phrase meaning sparse reed grove, a literary image associated with desolate beauty, and is the flagship label of Hirai Shoten in Shiga Prefecture near Lake Biwa. Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan, has long provided water to Shiga breweries, and its regional brewing culture reflects both the lake's influence and the prefecture's position as a historic thoroughfare between Kyoto and the eastern provinces. This label evokes the quiet, understated aesthetic of traditional Shiga sake production.
