Fukinohomare is produced by Hamachi Shuzo Co., Ltd., a Fukuoka brewery founded in 1870 that brews sake using Yamada Nishiki rice grown in the Itoshima region and subterranean water drawn from Mount Raizan. The name evokes the fuki (butterbur), a plant heralding spring in the Japanese culinary tradition. Its production heritage connects to the Suginoya brand, named after the cedar Noh stage built on the brewery grounds by its founder Shinkuro Hamachi.
