From the brewery

In the post town of the Uwajima feudal clan, in Uno -cho, Seiyo -shi, Maizo is built during the Kansei period and the brewery in the Ansei period, and it still has two hundred years. The Motomiya liquor store uses "Yamada Nishiki", which is grown in -house on fertile soil, and natural water that springs out of the backy mountain.

History

寛政年間(1789〜1801年)
A major fire destroyed the brewery buildings and records, leaving the exact founding year unknown; the still-standing front warehouse was built during this era.
安政年間(1854〜1860年)
The brewery's still-standing fermentation warehouse (shikomigura) was newly built.
1955
Motomiya Sakamise Co., Ltd. was incorporated.
1987
Launched the junmai sake 'Kaimei'.
2009
Built a new brewing warehouse and relocated production equipment; the brewery's town of Uwacho Unomachi was designated a nationally important preservation district for traditional buildings.
2017
The honjozo sake 'Kaimei' won gold at the National Kanzake (warmed sake) Contest.
2018
Launched the junmai daiginjo 'Tariki'; the aged junmai sake 'Kaimei' won gold at the National Kanzake Contest.
2019
Launched the fortified aged liqueur 'Tasogare'.
