Kumazawa Brewing Company, established in 1872 in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is now the sole surviving sake brewery in the Shonan coastal region. The Tensei brand, from which Sempo Tensei is drawn, takes its name from a Chinese tale about artists striving to paint the luminous sky after rain, and the sake is prized for embodying Shonan's bright, mineral-fresh coastal character.
