Shindo Sake Brewery has been operating since 1870 in Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture, a castle town in a basin surrounded by the Ou and Azuma mountain ranges that provide exceptionally clean subsoil water from the Azuma watershed. Kurouzaemon is one of the brewery's principal brands, crafted entirely from Yamagata Prefecture rice grown including from the brewery's own fields, with a focus on fresh, clean aromas and clear flavor. The brewery also produces the Gasanryu label, and both lines are known for their pristine character and expressive ingredient-forward brewing.
