Kazenoshizuku is produced by Imai Shuzoten, a brewery founded in 1691 in Nagano City that has maintained a commitment to fully handcrafted sake-making across more than three centuries. The brewery's primary brand Wakamidori, whose name evokes youth and enterprise, is drawn from Edo-period poetry, and the brewery's entire lineup is made exclusively from Nagano Prefecture-grown rice. Kazenoshizuku represents one of the brewery's expressions of this same locally rooted philosophy.
