Akita Meijyo Co., Ltd. was founded in 1922 in Yuzawa, a city long celebrated as one of Akita's most productive sake-brewing areas, by a coalition of local brewers, politicians, and investors. Kaori Ranman is the brewery's aroma-forward flagship sub-series within its wider Ranman portfolio, crafted from 100 percent Akita Sake Komachi rice fermented with the Komachi Yeast Special, an Akita-developed strain selected for floral and fruity fragrance. The Kaori Ranman line has earned Gold Medals at the Fine Sake Awards.
