Sake Brand
Hohai
Hohai is brewed by Miura Shuzo in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, a brewery founded in 1930 under the spirit of Wajoyo Ryoshu, brewing good sake through harmony. The brand name honors both the idea of a bountiful cup and the old Tsugaru folk song Hohai-bushi, once sung by lord Tsugaru Tamenobu to inspire his retainers. Miura Shuzo is one of the few breweries to grow its own signature rice, Hohai-mai, which accounts for roughly 80% of the rice used in production.
