Elaborado em uma cervejaria de Fukui fundada em 1904, este honjozo é feito com a água subterrânea suave de Echizen e segue o processo tradicional de um koji, dois moto e três fermentações. A cervejaria utiliza água de aquíferos alimentados pelo degelo da cordilheira Hakusan.
