Description

Named after kabuki actor Hyakujuro Ichikawa, who famously donated and planted 1,200 cherry trees across Gifu Prefecture, this sake from Hayashi Honten carries the same spirit of generosity in its production: released as muroka nama genshu, meaning unfiltered, unpasteurized, and undiluted, with no charcoal filtration, no pasteurization, and no dilution to alter its natural character. The result is an intensely vivid, uncompromised junmai ginjo with aromas of Japanese pear, loquat, and white flower, followed by a juicy, fruit-forward palate with refreshing acidity and genuine umami. Bottled directly from the press, it is sake in its most honest, transparent form.
