Description
Homei Umemishu is a plum fruit wine from Houmeishuzou in Hyogo, produced by macerating ume plums in a wine or fruit wine base rather than in sake or shochu, resulting in a lighter, more delicate plum character with a wine-like acidity. The ume contributes its characteristic tartness and floral stone-fruit aroma, while the fruit wine base provides a clean, refreshing backdrop that differs from sake-based umeshu. This expression from the Tanba-Sasayama brewery offers a lighter, more approachable style of plum liqueur suited to those who prefer less sweetness.
