Yoitomodachi, meaning 'good drinking companions,' is made by Akitaken Hakkou Kogyo in Yuzawa, Akita, where approximately 70% of the prefecture's sake is produced using abundant local rice and water ranked among Japan's finest by the Ministry of the Environment. Operating under Oenon Holdings, the brewery has produced sake since 1974 using the cold, snowy climate of the Ou Mountains region to achieve clean, balanced fermentation. The name reflects the communal spirit associated with sharing a relaxed, easygoing sake.
