Tohokukembunroku, whose name translates to 'Records of Travels Through Tohoku,' is brewed by Akitaken Hakkou Kogyo in Yuzawa, a city that supplies around 70% of Akita Prefecture's total sake production. The brewery, which joined the Oenon Holdings group in 2001, uses locally grown Akita rice and water sourced from Chikura Mizu, a spring designated by Japan's Ministry of the Environment for its exceptional purity. The name evokes the scenic spirit of the Tohoku region.
