Nommé d'après la lignée impériale Asuka, ce daiginjo de la plus ancienne brasserie de la préfecture de Fukui, fondée en 1716, est brassé avec la levure FK801 développée localement et l'eau de source du système Hakusan, désignée eau célèbre nationale. La brasserie utilise du riz cultivé par ses partenaires agricoles locaux de longue date à Echizen.
