Tokubetsuhonjozoshu Kura es un tokubetsu honjozo de la fábrica Tamanoharu de Iwate Meijyo en la prefectura de Iwate, designado tokubetsu por una tasa de pulido del arroz superior a la norma o por el uso de una variedad de arroz específica que va más allá de los requisitos habituales del honjozo. Se añade una pequeña cantidad de alcohol de elaboración destilado, lo que contribuye a un cuerpo más ligero y una final más limpia. Esta expresión representa un nivel elevado dentro de la serie Kura de la destilería.
