El Soukou Honjozo 1984 de Kuramitsu Shuzo toma su nombre del año 1984 y representa la tradición honjozo de la única cervecería de sake de la ciudad de Oita, fundada en 1864. Se elabora con agua subterránea del río Ono siguiendo el enfoque artesanal en pequeños lotes desarrollado a lo largo de cuatro generaciones, que sustenta todas las expresiones Soukou.
