El fundador Shigeichiro Sakai unió cinco cervecerías para crear Kyouhina. En aquel entonces nombró su sake 'Sake Roku', tomando los caracteres del nombre y apellido de su padre, Rokjuro Sakai. En 1975, la llegada del señor Jin marcó el inicio del trabajo en Tanrei seco Junmai y Daiginjo, que eran raros en la prefectura en ese momento.
