Der Soukou Honjozo 1984 von Kuramitsu Shuzo ist nach dem Jahr 1984 benannt und steht für die honjozo-Tradition der einzigen sake-Brauerei in Oita City, gegründet 1864. Er wird mit unterirdischem Wasser des Ono-Flusses nach dem über vier Generationen entwickelten handwerklichen Kleinserien-Ansatz gebraut, der allen Soukou-Ausdrücken zugrunde liegt.
