Im Jahr 1990 wurde die Sake-Produktion eingestellt, bevor 2018 auf der Insel Iki eine neue Brauerei errichtet wurde und damit zum ersten Mal seit 28 Jahren wieder sake auf der Insel hergestellt wird. Japanischer sake wird seither weiter in die Welt getragen.

Meilensteine
- 1924Founded by first-generation Kakuzo Yokoyama; began selling the sake 'Kinsekai' and shochu 'Kikushirayuki' and 'Fuji no Yuki'.
- 1942Established as Omoya Shuzo General Partnership Co., with Kakuzo Yokoyama as representative partner.
- 1965Renamed brands: the sake 'Kinsekai' became 'Fujitsuru', and the Iki barley shochu 'Kikushirayuki' became 'Sesshu'.
- 2013Revived sake brewing after a 23-year hiatus, releasing the special junmai sake 'Kakuzo Our Spirit'.
- 2014Changed company structure to a stock corporation under new name; Yuzo Yokoyama became president. Launched 'Junmai Daiginjo Yokoyama 50'.
- 2018Completed a new dedicated sake brewery on Iki Island after surveying the island for the best water source.
- 2021Trial-cultivated the sake rice variety 'Ginnosato' on Iki Island and sold out the resulting junmai daiginjo 'Yokoyama Princess Michiko Ginnosato'.
- 2024Held a celebration for the company's 100th anniversary; 'Junmai Daiginjo Yokoyama GOLD' won its first Silver award at SAKE COMPETITION 2024.
