History
1808
After the great fire of the 5th year of Bunka era, the current shop building (a traditional machiya townhouse) was rebuilt.
1874
In Meiji 7, the brewery began sake production, using a storehouse acquired from the Matsudaira clan (former lords of the Matsue domain) as its brewing hall.
1947
In Showa 22, after a postwar campaign to revive suspended breweries, 11 brewers joined together to resume sake production, founding Matsue Shuzo Co., Ltd.
1956
In Showa 31, the company was renamed Kokki Shuzo Co., Ltd. (limited company).
2006
In Heisei 18, Hiroki Iwahashi inherited the brewing techniques from the previous toji and began brewing as the owner-toji.
2010
In Heisei 22, the company was reorganized into Kokki Shuzo Co., Ltd. (joint-stock company).
