Isonosawa Co., Ltd was established in 1893 in Ukiha Town, Fukuoka, a region blessed by spring water fed by the Kinoo mountain range and the Chikugo River plain, and the brewery's name honors the founders' parents by combining their given names. Shun is the brewery's premium limited-distribution brand, spanning junmai, junmai ginjo, and junmai daiginjo expressions, with the stated goal of producing sake with moderate aroma and satisfying rice umami that never grows tiresome. The Shun junmai ginjo has earned top gold prize at Japan's largest kan-sake (warmed sake) competition as well as gold at the Fukuoka Prefectural Sake Appraisal.
