Established in 1920 in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture, Ishikoshi Jozo brews Sawanoizumi using pure groundwater from the cellar's own source and rice sourced predominantly from local Miyagi farms. The flagship Tokubetsu Junmai Sawanoizumi took the Runner-Up prize at the 2022 U.S. National Sake Appraisal, and the brewery is guided by the Nanbu toji tradition of clean, balanced sake that works well both chilled and warmed.
