Rikishi is the flagship brand of Kamaya Co., founded in 1748 in Kazo, Saitama Prefecture, by an Omi merchant who recognized the quality of Musashino sake rice and the abundant water from the nearby Tone River at a thriving post town on the Nakayama Road. Over 270 years, the brewery has shaped its identity around a three low brewing philosophy, using very low-polished rice with low temperature, low amino acids, and minimal waste, alongside innovative products such as wine yeast sake and sparkling sake. The brand concept, sake where rice, water, and people come alive, guides everything from ingredient sourcing to a bold expansion of the Rikishi lineup in recent years.
