Otafuku is produced by Tsuka Shuzo, a brewery with approximately 170 years of history since 1848 in Akitsu Town, Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The brewery is currently led by ninth-generation toji Soichiro Tsuka, who returned from Tokyo in 2020 and brought renewed focus on fresh, quality rice-forward sake. Tsuka Shuzo's philosophy centers on bringing happiness through sake, a value embedded in the Otafuku name, which evokes good fortune and joyful celebration in Japanese tradition.
