Kyonoharu

Mukai Shuzo, founded in 1754 in Ine, Kyoto Prefecture's Tango region, holds the distinction of being the closest sake brewery to the sea in Japan, situated on the shore of Ine Bay among the historic funaya boathouses. Kyonoharu is brewed entirely as junmai sake by Kuniko Mukai, one of Japan's pioneering female toji, using local Kyoto rice and traditional methods including yamahai and kimoto, producing a dry yet soft character rooted in the coastal terroir.
