Takenami Shuzoten was founded in 1645 in Tsugaru, Aomori Prefecture, making it one of the older sake breweries in Japan's northern Tohoku region. The brewery produces the Iwakimasamune brand alongside its secondary label Shichirobe, with Iwakimasamune Tokubetsu Junmaishu known for aged, rounded flavors that are smooth and warm. Aomori's cold winters and the brewery's deep historical roots in Tsugaru's sake tradition define the measured, unhurried character of the Iwakimasamune range.
