According to the record "Tsugaru Kokon Igyoki," the brewery traces its origins to the early Edo period (Shoho era, 1644-1647), when the family traveled from Echizen Tsuruga to Towada Minato and up the Iwaki River to found the brewery in Itayanogi village (now Itayanagi Town). It is considered the oldest sake brewery in the Tsugaru region.
