Sake Brand
Higen
Asama Shuzo sits at the foot of Mount Asama in Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture, where the harsh alpine climate shapes both the character of its sake and its approach to production. Since 2011 the brewery has grown its own sake rice in its own paddies, advancing toward what it describes as 'true local sake' that reflects the terroir of the Asama highlands. Higen, the flagship brand, draws on the region's cold, clear air and dedicated quality control to deliver sake that carries the scenery of its surroundings.
