Satou Shuzoten, located in Yurihonjo, Akita, at the foot of Mount Chokai, produces Chokaihomare as one of several brands from a brewery long anchored to the volcanic mountain that defines the region's landscape and water. The brewery draws on snowmelt-fed groundwater from the Chokai mountain system and is situated in Yurihonjo's Yashima district, a town historically associated with sake production in southern Akita. Chokaihomare represents the brewery's premium line, offered alongside the flagship Dewa-no-Fuji brand.
