Miyaizumi Meijo, founded in 1955 in the Aizu basin of Fukushima Prefecture, gained national attention when its Sharaku brand took first place in the gold medal by prefecture category at the National New Sake Appraisal for three consecutive years beginning in 2013. The Aizu Miyaizumi label runs alongside Sharaku as the brewery's more traditional, regionally grounded offering, crafted in the Aizu basin's ideal sake climate where wide temperature swings between summer and winter support controlled, careful fermentation. The brewery monitors temperature, humidity, and aroma daily as part of a rigorous quality-first approach shared across both brands.
