Description

Tsuchiyama takes its name directly from the town of Tsuchiyama-cho in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, the historic post town on the Tokaido road where Matsuoka Shuzo has brewed since 1886. The brewery draws on clean, soft water from the Suzuka mountain range that frames the town, and this house expression carries the everyday character of local Shiga brewing. Named for its place of origin, Tsuchiyama grounds its identity in the specific geography and road-town heritage of one of the Tokaido's most scenic stops.
