1. 1862In Bunkyu 2 (1862), late in the Edo period, a wealthy farmer of Etchu began brewing sake under a license from the Kaga domain, marking the origin of the Wakatsuru brand.
2. 1918On October 23, Taisho 7 (1918), Wakatsuru Shuzo Co., Ltd. was incorporated with capital of 100,000 yen.
3. 1953On the night of May 11, Showa 28 (1953), a fire broke out at the alcohol factory and destroyed most of the facilities, but the company resumed operations within a short period.
4. 1962In Showa 37 (1962), the company established sake brewing leveraging the strengths of both the Taisho and Showa kura, and that same year founded Hokuriku Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in a room of the Taisho kura.
5. 1988In Showa 63 (1988), the company completed its new head office building.
6. 2016In Heisei 28 (2016), a renovation project for the aging Saburomaru Distillery was launched, led by the fifth-generation successor, raising more than its crowdfunding target.
7. 2017In Heisei 29 (2017), Saburomaru Distillery reopened as a tourable whisky distillery, now welcoming over 10,000 visitors annually.
8. 2025On August 6, Reiwa 7 (2025), the Wakatsuru Shuzo Taisho kura, Showa kura Shoko, and Saburomaru Distillery were all registered as National Registered Tangible Cultural Properties.
