Le Yamada Nishiki poli à 35% fait de ce sake le daiginjo phare de la gamme Kariho, baptisé Makino d'après l'ancien entrepôt en terre de la brasserie à Akita. Brassé avec l'eau de source de dureté moyenne de la rivière Omono et pressé selon la technique traditionnelle sakafune, il a obtenu l'argent au U.S. National Sake Appraisal 2018 et l'or au Kura Master 2018.
